Elderly are the poorest in the territory. According to official figures, one in three seniors lives in poverty, approximately 300,000 people. OECD ranks Hong Kong second, after South Korea, on the list of countries with the highest poverty among people over 65. "Crumbs under a carpet" ((Hong Kong expression given to poor elderly people, who we want to hide) consists of a work on the difficult living conditions and poverty of elderly people in Hong Kong through work, housing, health, and leisure.
